2. When measuring the battery with the engine on, the battery is on 14.2v (charging state from what i have read, meaning the alternator works). But after driving the car, turning the engine off and turning the ignition on. The battery low warning comes on in like 5 minutes. (already replaced and coded battery with a new one so it isn't that)
When I got home I used Carly to scan for fault codes and found a 009CCE fault code - "Drive passenger side mirror broken / Battery deep discharge". Tested both side mirrors - working fine. Cleared fault. Car is now running/starting fine.speeds, the engines charging system will not. maintain the battery. Insufficient use of the vehicle. could result in short term starting problems. and in the long term could damage the battery. I assume the clock reset is the first sign that your battery is not getting enough regular charge.
The reality is that you, me, and all the people that buy BMW parts and cars paid for it. The battery was killed by the over voltage output from the alternator-17.2v. When you overcharge the battery with excessive voltage or current, it will boil the electrolyte off. The capacity of the battery then becomes permanently diminished.
The car is a 2010 E90 335d. After not driving it for a few days, I got in and tried to start it and it cranked really slow. It was obvious the battery was low, so I charged it overnight. At the same time, there was a light indicating the SOS system was disabled, the iDrive screen was blank, and there were no chimes of any sort. 11724 posts · Joined 2007. #7 · Mar 6, 2013. The BMW alternator is internally regulated, but it is "excited" by a 12V signal from the PCM rather than direct from the battery. That's why the PCM need to be advised when the battery is changed, so that the PCM controls charge rate appropriately. Can the regulator be changed without changing the Might be either a low battery or IBS problem. Tom. I am fairly sure it won't cover the battery, but I wonder if it will cover the IBS (if that is indeed the problem). Got my low battery symbol at about the same time as you KT, & it's been a street fight with my dealer ever since.
