VW is one of those brands who didn’t compromise on their DNA and are selling safe and fun-to-drive cars in India, albeit with inferior interior plastics (which are still at-par or better than rivals but definitely downgraded from previous VW standards). No brand offers the same drive quality, performance, safety and build quality of VW/Skoda Higher chance they buy a VW Group car rather than if they were to pick between VW, Renault and Peugeot. And VW Group wouldn't be as big as it is in Czech Republic without Skoda. The same applies to Seat in Spain. Owning a french brand would really help VW in France because French cars completely dominate in that market.
