My boot only seems to open with my key and not via the roundel however i have even ordered a replacement tried it but no luck. i tested the roundel open and closed circuit and seems fine same results on both.

First thing to check is that the two "nobs" in the trunk are not rotated. The two nobs I am referring to are located on the top of the trunk when opened and when moved, either drop or lower the compartment into which the convertible top drops into when lowered. If these nobs are not turned so that the compartment is available, the top will not
I have a BMW Z4 3.0 with a SMG Box. Does anybody know what it means when the Position indicator window on the Dash witch normally shows R N 1 D. It now shows FN or FW difficult to make out. Fixed this. Took the parcel shelf out and the metal part of the microswitch was there, just bent up on the wrong side of the parcel shelf tab. All working now. z4microswitch2.jpg. One to watch.
