1dx series is much faster at attaining focus. Tracking may, debatably, go to the R5 but the initial focus goes to the 1dx3. No way for me to scientifically measure, but I would say my R5 attains lock as fast as my 1dx II even with an adapted 100-400 II. R5 tracking significantly better plus eye detect.

Turns out that the new canon 1dx ii has actually smaller parts of the pixel that absorb light when compared to the 1dx. I guess maybe purchasing a 1dx would prove a better fit for me and for my wallet, but this to me is sad. What do other more experienced users think. Thanks!
