But does anyone actually know how much it would cost to install a new engine (just replacing parts) taking into account you wouldn't need new brakes, and that the engine fit straight in, etc etc. Just out of interest, I have no plans to change my 1.2 16v Sporting engine myself. Punto MK2 Sporting 16v, Full Abarth Bodykit + Alloys.
I've been looking at putting a 1.8 16v engine into my 1.2 punto and was wondering if The internet's #1 online community and oracle for all things FIAT since 2002
Just wondering, Would putting an engine from a 1.4 16v Punto into a 1.2 8v Punto mk2-b be a direct swap? If not what work would be needed to be done? Or even what engines do fit in with minimal work? Thanks, Rhys
You recall incorrectly there are plenty of 16v actives Anyway it does sound like its speed sensor related, speed sensor as Ziggy pointed out feeds in to the steering to alter the rate of assistance depending on speed, obviously this also feeds into the dash for the speedo etc Your diagnostic machine might be able to read the engine ecu which may have picked up a fault with the vehicle speed
Hello Confuzzlehogle, Torque wrenches: I use a Sykes-Pickavant 10-100Nm 3/8" drive wrench with an adapter for 1/2" sockets for most jobs on the car (I use both 3/8" and 1/2" drive sockets). It's still going strong after 20 years. Unfortunately at Today's prices it would be well outside your price range: £90-100.
